Floods cause so much devistation.  Health, economic, environmental, etc.  The environmental consequesnces are high.  While the water flows all over the area it picks up anything in it's path. This can mean anything.  When cars drive through,their emission could pollute the waters.  Checmicals that were on the ground, peoples belongings, garbage, waste, trees... ANYTHING!  So as you can see, when the water ends up back in the river, it would be completely philthy and full of junk.  This could mean health problems for the animals in the river, or the people that drink the water, or eat the animals. You'd think the water would be pretty contaminated after every flood wouldn't you?
