Ice jams along the Red River also contributed to flooding. Those are the roads in Manitoba, think about how hard it would be to go anywhere.
Hundreds of people have been evacuated from their homes this spring. That cabin could've been the families favorite get-away in the summer, and now it's destroyed.
Think about the economy for a second. All of the damage that is happening has to be paid for somehow, and think of the items you can't replace. When you have items with sentimental value you can't just pay for it to get fixed. At first I thought, "Why wouldn't you just move if there were so many floods?" but that isn't always an easy option. Some people don't have the money to move somewhere flood free. Some people don't want to leave their loved ones who choose to stay. -Krissy
